Pierre Augustin Rose: From Paris, With Love
A Parisian Vision Finds a Permanent Home in SoHo.
At R HUGHES, we’ve been captivated by Pierre Augustin Rose since their earliest introductions to the American market. Now, the Paris-based design label has opened the doors to its first permanent U.S. gallery, a 6,000-square-foot sanctuary in New York’s SoHo neighborhood — cementing its position as a global force in collectible design.
Located on the fourth floor of the historic Odd Fellows Hall at 224 Centre Street—formerly the studio of fashion photographer Mario Sorrenti — the new gallery embodies the brand’s signature quiet elegance. The interiors juxtapose the building’s original architectural elements with the brand’s pared-back aesthetic: whitewashed brick arches, sculptural curtains, and tailor-made installations including Lupia’s modular sound system and a commanding architectural console. The result is a space that feels at once monastic and modern, deeply considered and emotionally resonant.
The gallery showcases the full breadth of Pierre Augustin Rose’s offerings, from voluptuous seating and sculptural lighting to refined cabinetry and outdoor furniture. In keeping with the brand’s curatorial eye, the space also features a selection of rare antiques — handpicked by the founders to enter into quiet dialogue with the contemporary pieces. There’s a sense of harmony in the contrasts: 1930s Scandinavian restraint meets Empire elegance; mid-century warmth plays against elemental minimalism.
This stateside debut marks a new chapter for Pierre Augustin Rose, one that builds on the success of their Paris atelier while extending the studio’s reach to a broader international audience. For collectors, designers, and aesthetes alike, the SoHo gallery offers an immersive experience — an invitation into a world where history, craftsmanship, and sculptural form continue to unfold in new and unexpected ways.
