Natasha Baradaran: A Love Letter to LA

As the world around us inches closer to working faster than the speed of light, we know it’s more important than ever to honor the wins along this ever-winding journey. Having been a showroom partner for Natasha for nine years, we took a pause to reflect on these years together – what she’s learned from the last decade & what she envisions for the next one.

“At the intersection of the arts; from fashion to furniture, I myself feel so inspired by walking in the West Hollywood Design District where our new space is located. It is hard to believe that I am across the street from the likes of Rose Tarlow (one my earliest role models), as well as the established brands I have always admired like B&B Italia. I feel privileged to showcase my work next to theirs.” — Natasha Baradaran

From a six-piece debut collection to opening up your own flagship in West Hollywood, it’s been an honor to be a showroom partner along the way. As you celebrate 10 years of your brand, what does this milestone mean to you both personally and professionally?

When I first started with our capsule collection, I looked at it as an experiment–a way to spark my creativity that was different than being an interior designer. Ten years later the appeal of what I design and the growth of the collection has grown for me to be so much more than that. Personally,  I have become addicted to the rewarding feeling of creating pieces that speak not only to my style, but also to the designers I admire and respect. On a professional level, it has been the impetus of many more pieces and the growth of textiles and other branches to our brand. Feeling so blessed that I am able to continue to grow in an authentic way.

How does this space reflect your vision, and what makes it uniquely Natasha Baradaran? What inspired you to open up your own flagship?

The play of our color palette, which is a combination of spice hues and blush tones along with the curvaceous shapes of our pieces, is something that you can only experience in our flagship. Our showroom partners collaborate with us on art direction to evolve the collection to their markets. While I enjoy seeing the collection from various vantage points, it has been an incredibly freeing feeling to be able to showcase what I create from my POV and personal lens. The flagship has given me the opportunity to do that. The laidback luxury of Southern california we have always imbedded into the brand is in its full vision at my new West Hollywood flagship .
