A kaleidoscope of butterflies is a natural phenomenon that halts time and senses as colorful beings captivate the sky. The Kaleidoscope infinity mirror invites similar pause with hypnotic exploration of industry and nature, and the balance we hope to strike between the two.
The Kaleidoscope series presents sculpted fields of butterflies suspended between mirrors. The butterflies are reflected in endlessly flowing, asymmetrical relationships to each other. As the viewer interacts, the piece shifts in form, inviting an unexpected, immersive stillness and space.
Each light sculpture is composed of hundreds of butterflies created using butterfly wings and cast bronze, hand strung inside an infinity mirror box.
